<p>It&#39;s not the case, if you are eating properly and only having the occasional processed meal or ready made meal then you will definatley need to be adding salt to your diet.</p>
<p>Salt is really important for the athlete, but not just any salt.&nbsp; The normal white table salt that is so common should be avoided, it is just sodium chloride and it has all the other beneficial trace minerals removed from it.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Not taking advantage of things like these is understandable if you don&rsquo;t know about them, so the purpose of this article is to inform you about some cool foods you can include into your daily habits to increase health wellness and even happiness.</p>
<p>The daddy of special substances is fish oil. Fish oil is the panacea of life, there&rsquo;s not much it can&rsquo;t or won&rsquo;t do in the body to regulate and enhance all aspects of cellular function.</p>
<p>The reason it does this is because the cells or rather cell walls are made from fat. So the health of the cell membrane depends on the fat that you eat. You need cells to be built from a good mix of fatty acids, but if you have too many of one type over another then cell membrane health will be compromised and cell communication will be less efficient.</p>

<li> It does not promote platelet stickiness, which leads to blood clot formation.</li>
<li>It does not contribute to atherosclerosis or heart disease.</li>
<li> It does not promote cancer or any other degenerative disease.</li>
<li> It does not contribute to weight problems.</li>
<li> Does not create cell damaging free radicals like other vegetable oils and is stable at cooking temperatures</li>
</ul>
<p>So we can see that it is not associated with the same stigma as other saturated fats! What about the good things it can do?</p>

<p>As you know I am a masive fan of <strong><a target="_blank" href="http://sportsnutritionvlog.com/2008/04/01/drinking-green-tea-for-fat-loss/">Green Tea for it&#8217;s high levels of anti-oxidant and it&#8217;s abiliyt to boost your metabolism</a></strong> and help assist with. </p>
<p>In warmer weather like we have now brew yourself up a big pot of green tea nan allow it go cold and keep it in a jug in the fridge or just pop a couple of ice cubes into it.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;ve tried green tea and find you dont like it then there a few tips to try that may help.</p>
<p>1. Don&#8217;t use boiling water, try very warm water</p>
<p>2. Don&#8217;t let it brew for too long, this can sometimes make it bitter</p>
<p>3. Try different brands and varieties. You will find one that you like eventually.</p>

<p>One of the nutritionists that I really respect and like is John Berardi and his site <a href="http://precisionnutrition.com/cmd.php?pageid=980703" target="_blank">Precision Nutrition</a>.&nbsp; I purchased his original <a href="http://precisionnutrition.com/cmd.php?pageid=980703" target="_blank">Precision Nutrition system</a> a while ago and am waiting for delivery of Version3 <a href="http://precisionnutrition.com/cmd.php?pageid=980703" target="_blank">Precision Nutrition system</a></p>
<p>He&#8217;s posted an excellent article about <a href="http://www.precisionnutrition.com/super-shake-creation" target="_blank">creating super shakes</a>. It certainly got my taste buds watering.&nbsp; If you want to jazz up your <a href="http://www.gourmetnutrition.com/cmd.php?pageid=980703" target="_blank">shakes</a> this is the place to look.</p>

Recent studies have shown that eating chocolate can be beneficial to your health. Chocolate contains a substance called <u>catechins</u> that can help prevent cancer and heart disease, as well as lower blood pressure. Catechins are <u>strong antioxidants</u> which clear away destructive molecules in the body called free radicals.</p>
<p>Free radicals damage cells which help trigger heart disease and cancer. A large amount of antioxidants in your diet can help reduce your risk for developing heart disease and cancer. Cocoa powder and chocolate are good sources of antioxidants. See the list of Top Antioxidant Foods below. Dark chocolate contains significantly higher amounts than most other foods. You can also find catechins in large doses in green tea. In addition, researchers have discovered that <strong>physical and emotional enjoyment from eating chocolate</strong>, even in small doses, can enhance immune function for hours afterwards.</p>
<p>They believe that life&#8217;s small pleasures may have a cumulative effect in boosting the immune system over a long period. The good news is that moderate chocolate consumption offers health benefits. The bad news is that you can&#8217;t eat&nbsp;too much chocolate can lead to weight gain.</p>
<p>Look out for dark chocolate with over 70% cocoa solids, that is the&nbsp;good stuff.&nbsp;&nbsp; A few squares if you&#8217;ve been training will do you a lot of good.</p>
