Matt’s Home Brew Immune Booster

As we approach winter, the number of people with colds and flu increase, making it very important to try and stay healthy and protect yourself. This recipe creates a drink you can make at home that will boost your immune system, for when you notice the first signs of a cough or cold. It is important to take decisive action the moment you feel the slightest sniffle or tickle in your throat. The immune booster brew is also good to use as a preventative should a family member display any such symptoms.

Vitamin D

One of the reasons for the increase in coughs and colds is lower levels of Vitamin D due to lack of sunshine throughout the winter months. Vitamin D has numerous effects on boosting the immune system. Alongside the immune booster, taking a blend of vitamin D and vitamin K can help keep you healthy. Recipe

1 Whole organic unwaxed lemon.
(Unwaxed and organic because I don’t want to  concentrate pesticides.)

Boiling extracts limonene from the skin, which is a powerful antioxidant and detoxifier.

1 tsp clove powder  (This numbs the throat and gram for gram is one of the most powerful antioxidants.)

Fresh ginger (About the size of my thumb, finely chopped.)

1 tsp All Spice

1 Tablespoon Fresh Cinnamon (Ground down from the dried bark.)

Royal jelly OR  you can use raw honey if you don’t have any royal jelly.

You can add additional Manuka Honey as well.

Boil this for 10 minutes and then enjoy!
